Thai Stretching

Thai Stretching

Thai Stretching is a bodywork method blending assisted stretching with elements of yoga-like movements, acupressure, and gentle rhythmic mobilisations.

During a session the practitioner slowly guides the recipient through a series of stretches on a mat, using hands, feet, elbows, and knees to support and deepen each stretch.

This practice is unlike static stretching you do alone — it’s partner-assisted, so the therapist helps move and stretch your body into positions you might not reach on your own.

The room space is soothing and nurturing with the aroma of essential oils and accompanied with relaxing music.

How It’s Done

• You lie on a mat on the floor while the practitioner uses gentle pressure and guided movement to lengthen muscles and joints through yoga-like postures.
• Stretching can include twisting, pulling, opening hips and shoulders, and assisted backward/forward bends.
• Breathing with the movement is encouraged to help muscles relax into deeper stretch.

It’s a dynamic, flowing sequence rather than holding a particular stretch for a long time by yourself.

Benefits
